This colorful Kitchen/Tea Towel will brighten up your kitchen. This practical and decorative item is made from blue striped cotton and trimmed in a colorful Nepalese fabric and arrives folded in a brightly colored gauze drawstring reusable bag.

This Kitchen/Tea Towel has been hand crafted by women from remote mountain villages of Tipling, Sherthung and Lapa in Nepal. All net proceeds support their livelihood, provide primary health care, school support and adult literacy classes through Himalayan Health Care or HHC. HHC is a non-profit humanitarian organization working with the people of remote Dhading, Dolakha and llam districts of Nepal for fifteen years to help improve their health, education and income programs. It also organizes medical treks for foreign doctors to serve the villages and help train local manpower in health. Keeping with the countrys new business norms, a company called Spiral Crafts for Women, or SCW, has been created in Nepal by HHC to promote and sell the handicrafts.

This project addresses a consciousness towards world ecology by assisting a developing country in supporting its local handicraft by the use of recycled materials. Because of the interconnectedness of all life, giving always comes back to ones self.
